and they give more often,
when they're asked to give
by someone they know
and trust.

Welcome!
We produce the world's most innovative fundraising technology. Grassroots Giving Group spun off from ActBlue.com, a popular political fundraising website in February, 2009. Our software gives every individual the ability to become an amateur fundraiser by creating their own fundraising webpage all under your organization's brand.
We also offer a wealth of accumulated experience and know-how in promoting this form of grassroots fundraising. We help organizations tap into a broader base of smaller-dollar donors in order to diversify their revenue and help counteract the effects of the recession on their existing donors' and funders' ability to give.
Why Are We Here?
We want to help our clients create a more generous society that celebrates the giving of money. We believe it is our responsibility as citizens to give of what we have, and with better information, friendlier ways to ask, and the smart use of new technology, we hope people will have more conversations about charity. We've found that people give more, and they give more often, when they're asked to give by someone they know and trust. Our company exists to make that process easier and more frequent.

Jeremy Speaks at MIT on GGG's Business Plan
In March 2009, just as our company was starting, MIT's Science and Engineering Business Club invited Jeremy to speak about GGG's business plan as part of a four-speaker alumni panel. It was a time to share with current students what it's like to run a business. Jeremy presented GGG as an example of a business that's adopted a bootstrapping strategy, as opposed to seeking venture funding; he talked about the basic elements of a business plan and shared how GGG has thought through them. Watch a QuickTime video of the PowerPoint presentation here (it's 11MB).
How Does It Work?
This technology is about people asking other people to support causes they care about. The technology is a tool that helps people come together and talk about giving money to support important charities. We help nonprofits recruit their existing supporters into amateur online fundraisers, who then solicit their own friends, co-workers and family members in an organic cycle of giving. We know it works because ActBlue.com proved it: nobody ever thought in their wildest dreams that $70 million existed in the world of Democratic political fundraising, in one year. Our software helped find the money because it allowed organizations to tap into social networks to reach people they had not been able to reach before. And all those $20, $35, and $50 contributions added up.
If your organization touches people's lives in any way, it ought to be doing grassroots fundraising. People who've had first-hand experience with you, or who just support you very strongly, want to help you by speaking with their own voice about why you're so important to them. Behind each of those strong supporters is a number of people -- a couple, a dozen, a hundred -- who care about them and value their opinions. Some of those second-tier social connections will contribute to you, just because they've been asked by someone they know and trust. We're offering you a way to do extremely cost-effective donor acquisition. And once you acquire those donors, they'll be on your list and you can solicit them again through our software or through any traditional means.
We allow people to create personalized fundraising pages that support a slate of recipients that are important to them. These recipients might be separate allied organizations, they might be chapters within one large organization, they might be line-item programs within an organization, or they might be some combination. The power for you, as a nonprofit leader, is the ability to have all of this happen under your auspices, under your control, under your brand.
If We Sign Up, How Long Will It Take You to Build Us a Customized Fundraising Website?
Generally with your support we can have a fundraising web portal launched for your organization in 3 to 4 weeks. The great advantage of this product is that we don't have to build it custom; we just need to work with you to get a web design for the site, set up your accounting infrastructure, and then we can just turn the fundraising website on!
